Olivia Munn can make you smile even when she turns you down. After waiting several minutes for many other fans to get their photos and autographs from the heavenly Olivia Munn after her live AOTS broadcast from Comic-Con09, I finally get to the front. First she helps make sure my camera is on and suddenly I can barely remember english! Then Olivia jokingly accuses me of going for "upskirts." I ask her to give a shoutout to Item9, but she refuses, saying she "prefer[s] not to." instead, she gives a shoutout to her own website, oliviamunn.com, and her fan group, OMFG! She could have told me to go F-bomb myself, but not Olivia. When put on the spot, she gracefully handles it with humor instead of venom, which only makes us like her more! Thanks for the soundbite, Olivia!

I wansn't planning on covering the ESPY Awards because I wasn't able to get press credentials for it. But being a Wyclef Warrior has its perks! I knew Wyclef was coming to town, but didn't want to bug him since he was so kind to me on his last visit. However Monday morning I awoke to a tip off of his hotel drop in less than an hour. Ran out the door and got downtown in record time! Waiting on the curb for his arrival, I sent him a direct tweet explaining that I wouldn't be at the ESPYs, but might see him at the hotel. Minutes later he arrived and kindly let me take some photos. I didn't even ask him for any favors, he just asked for my card, told me not to worry about it, then disappeared into the hotel. Later on I got a tweet from him saying simply "stand by." Fast forward to Wednesday, hadn't heard back yet and didn't want to get my hopes up to be disappointed. Too late to cancel the other job, so my overnights had begun and I was up from noon Tuesday till 9:30 Wednesday morning. But around noon I awoke to a text that Wyclef had a guest pass for me, so again I bolted out the door and made it downtown just in time. Wyclef's manager met me outside and, to my complete surprise, asked if I wanted to go say hi to Wyclef in his dressing room! I spent about 45 minutes backstage at the ESPYs, chilling with Wyclef and Jerry Wonder before the show, listening to music while Wyclef twittered away to his Warriors online. I recorded and posted the videos below during the visit, direct from my phone, and you can tell I need sleep, badly! I asked Wyclef what I could do to thank him, and he said he wanted me to tell you all just how real his Warrior movement is, so that's why I am telling this long story!
After that he needed to get ready, so I headed up to the red carpet, and bumped into Samuel L. Jackson on the way! I asked if it was okay to take a few shots of him and he said, "That's what you're here for ain't it?" Yes, it was! After the red carpet I watched the show from the press tent, but I won't be revealing any winners here, because the show hasn't aired yet! But I got a cople of shots of the presenters, Jeremy Piven and Rashida Jones, that I can share... Thanks again Wyclef for another incredible experience I will surely never forget! Warriors Unite! Join the movement! @Wyclefhttp://wyclef.com
90210's AnnaLynne McCord and (i'm guessing) her sister were surrounded by fans, autograph hounds and paparazzi as they leave the Op Campus launch party outside Mel's Drive-In on the Strip. One particularly rude autograph hound keeps demanding Ms. McCord's attention, insisting she "Look up as you sign, look up as you sign, look up!" as she signs multiple photos for him. And when she dares to turn her attention away from him to let a FAN take a photo, he demands she wait until she's done with him. Autograph hounds hate paparazzi and the feeling is usually mutual, but we are forced to coexist on the same turf, kind of like the Israelis and Palestinians. I have no real feelings either way, as I am not trying to make enemies. I just don't like rude people, and there are plenty of those in both camps.
Ok ladies, I suppose you're all wishing you were that piece of gum or something, but below is the video of Kellan Lutz from the other night at the Op whatever party. Is Kellan quitting smoking? Sweet tooth? Or just a plain old oral fixation? He goes from lollipop to gum in seconds! Watch Kellan headbang while he fastens his seatbelt! With footage this good, I can't believe I waited this long to post it. BTW that's not me asking all the poor questions he's ignoring. I didn't know what to ask him. Any Twi-Hards with suggestions for next time? Write a comment!
Here's the video I promised! In this video I was rendered incapable of speech by Olivia Munn's unexpected appearance outside Mels Drive-In on Tuesday night... When I recovered the ability to speak, I did get Stephanie Pratt to open up about her crazy brother, Spencer Pratt and his recent public breakdown, and she gives a surprising answer... Last we have the insanity of the swarm as the Kardashian's arrive at the party!
I told you about how Wyclef picked me out of the crowd of photogs at the BET Awards last week and made me feel very special after treating me and a small group of Wyclef Warriors to breakfast at ihop that same morning... well Wyclef posted his own Behind-The-Scenes video of the event and I made the cut! Check it out below! About a minute and a half into the video... that's me! Thanks again Wyclef for capturing one of the proudest moments of my career! Ron Artest usually plays basketball for a living, but it seems Michael Jackson's death has left an opening in the music world that Ron felt should be immediately filled... by him! Help me decipher these lyrics. Does he say he wants to meet Michael and "touch your hair" or does he say "hand?" Either way, I'm creeped out. Painful as it is, you gotta listen to the whole thing, he actually seems to cry at the end! Now I cry for Mike, too!
My exclusive video of Wyclef Jean explaining the importance of social activism at the first ever meeting of The Wyclef Warriors, a grassroots campaign to reach out to fans personally and get them organized and ready to be active in their communities. Wyclef organized the meeting through Twitter with help from his California Zone leader, Secretary of State Mari Torres. A small group of fans met at 10am at the Hollywood Ihop for a secret intimate breakfast with Wyclef! Thanks again Wyclef! Warriors unite! UPDATE 7/2/09: Wyclef is switching his website to a new server, so the Ning site is gone. You can sign up to be a Warrior on Twitter. Step 1: Follow @Wyclef Step 2: Reply to a @wyclef tweet, tell him you want to be a warrior and the word FOLLOW. Step 3: When Wyclef starts following you, DM your contact info. Step 4: Wyclef may actually call you! He called me!
I wasn't sure what to expect at the free Ashley Tisdale concert this afternoon at The Grove in Los Angeles, except the same awkward feeling that my Dad must have had taking me to ZZ Top in 1986. Out Of Place. Mission accomplished there, but anyway, I have had little exposure to Ashley Tisdale, so I didn't know what the music would be like. The opening band, The V Factory, set the bar nice and low, I can't believe we're back to boy bands already in the pop cycle! (It was particularly uncool of these dudes to ask the fans to please "tag" any photos of the band online.) So, when Ashley's band took the stage and picked up musical instruments, I was skeptical to say the least. I'm no expert, but it sounded to me like Ashley was really singing, and the band was really playing live, so that was more than I was expecting. I'm not going to give my opinion because the music was not intended for my demographic, but at least Ashley was setting herself apart as a performer by actually performing! And when you can flip your hair and point like Ashley can, who needs to dance and sing simultaneously anyway?
If you didn't make it down to the Grove to see the show today, watch my videos of the full show here. See Parts 1 & 2 of her 30 minute set now! MORE TO COME! But enjoy it now, because you never know when YouTube might pull it!
Ashley Greene (Twilight, New Moon) was being photographed by myself and 18 other paparazzi while she was exiting Katsuya in Hollywood last night, when suddenly a multi car crash occurred on the street right behind all of us. [You can clearly hear the crash in the video!] Apparently, the allegedly drunk driver was distracted by the camera flashes, but there were conflicting reports from witnesses who say that another person was in the at-fault vehicle and ran from the scene, leaving this woman to take the blame. She made things a lot worse for herself by attempting to drive off, but was stopped by the paparazzi, who surrounded the vehicle. When the police arrived, she was given a sobriety test, handcuffed, and arrested. Ashley Greene escaped unharmed!... Oh and speaking of car wrecks, Mary Carey was also there. I asked her what she thought of Spencer and Heidi Pratt being banned from E! Networks and she told me she loves Speidi and thinks everyone else is "wrong" about them. OK Mary, whatever you say!
I for one am getting totally excited about the new season of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia", and this behind-the-scenes look at Rob McElhenney and Charlie Day trying to contain an "in-character" Danny DeVito during a live news remote only makes me thirsty for more!
Just in time for Mothers' Day, Miley Cyrus and her Mom, Trish Cyrus, hosted the 16th Annual Entertainment Industry Foundation's Revlon Run/Walk For Women this morning at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Miley and her Mom revved up the crowd, and Miley yelled "Everybody ready?...Go" to start the run.
Miley Cyrus and boyfriend, Justin Gaston stopped in for a quick bite at Mr Chow tonight and caused quite a paparazzi fracas! There are some paps who have no ethics whatsoever and make the rest of us look bad. This is the worst I've seen yet! When Miley drove up and got out there were just 3 of us paps outside the restaurant. But within 10 seconds of her arrival, a sudden swarm of photogs popped up from all directions. One of them stepped into the celebrity couple's path, literally pushing another videographer into the restaurant! The doorman stepped in and got into a shoving match with the obnoxious pap, seen here, and then called the cops. Then some paparazzi started attacking each other! Those involved in the fight started attacking others, who had been filming it. It was rather exciting!
Adult film/Reality show star, Mary Carey stunned the world last night with her revelation that reality shows are FAKE! Who knew? Mary tells my camera about how reality show editors make them all look worse than they are. But does that mean her sobriety is also fake? Watch and see!
Doorstepping Kate Beckinsale Day 4: Chased Kate around all day. Couldn't get any good shots in dark, underground parking lots. Finally she went shopping at Barney's on Wilshire in Beverley Hills. Got a few shots through the front window, but by the time she was finished shopping, there were about a dozen or more other paps waiting to get the shot. They had been tipped off by the doormen and most had better lenses than me, so I switched to video. Barely had time to get set up before she came out.
HOLLYWOOD, 2009: Dangerous and deadly car chases. Drug-fueled starlets refusing to wear underpants. D-listers begging to be photographed. Beefy bouncers with headsets and no brains. Lap dances in the gutter. Has-beens stealing your kush.
Everyone had a story, and most of them were working on a script based on that story. The landscape had changed, and what had once been a glamorous and dreamy boulevard was now a dark and seedy underground of hanger-ons and fame junkies.
That's where I came in. I could say I did it for the money, but that would make me a liar just like the rest of them. The truth is I was drawn to it. Like an accident on the side of the road. I didn't want to look, but my camera guided me, daring me not to ignore my destiny.
