Rihanna Returns Ready To Rock

Seeing Chris Brown back in court got me wondering how Rihanna is doing bouncing back from the whole ordeal. Luckily I got the chance to find out first hand. Rihanna flew into LAX late Thursday night and I was there to capture a few images of her arrival back into town. She looked great, as you can see, as she gears up to perform at the American Music Awards on Sunday. I think that paparazzi like myself were the only people in Los Angeles to see the both of them today. Chris had flown out earlier, after his hearing, so there may be some other airport workers who saw them both, but I'd say that is going to be a rare occurrence... even in Hollywood.

Chris Brown Cops A Plea, Avoids Jail

Chris Brown appeared in Los Angeles Criminal Court today, where his lawyer, Mark Geragos, arranged a plea bargain for his client that will allow him to avoid jail time completely... just one catch! 180 days of "hard labor" (community service) in Virginia!! In case you just got back from Mars, Chris Brown was facing felony counts of assault against his former girlfriend, Rihanna. Rihanna was in the courtroom today as well, but since the prosecution wanted her to be comfortable and cooperative, they brought her in through the private underground entrance. I wonder why Mr. Brown wasn't offered the same door? I guess they like making him walk the perp-walk!

As Chris exited the courthouse, they paraded him and his entourage before us again, and there were a group of young girls on the sidewalk, yelling "Chris, we love you!" which was so sad to witness. Since he was just a few feet from me, I took the opportunity to express the opposite opinion. Do you think he heard me? Watch the video I shot and see for yourself! (Thanks to MavrixOnline.com)

Yeah, I probably shouldn't have done that, but I hadn't eaten all day guarding my spot at the front of the police tape!

Rihanna Subpoenaed! Will Testify In Chris Brown Assault Case

People.com is reporting that Rihanna has been personally served with a subpoena to testify in the Chris Brown felony assault case. The hearing is scheduled for June 22nd in Superior Court. Brown has pleaded not guilty to 2 the felony counts against him for the February beating of Rihanna before the Grammy Awards. The BIG question remains: Who will be the first rapper to rhyme Rihanna and Subpoena?

Chris Brown Walk Of SHAME!

Chris Brown pleaded NOT GUILTY at his arraignment today. But first they made him walk the "perp walk," as in they made him enter the court through the front doors, parading him before the ravenous media! I got shots of him every step of the way, looking sorry and sad, or at least attempting to. Perhaps he is looking to start an acting career when this is over.
Chris' mother was there to support him, and he was flanked by lawyer Mark Geragos and 4 HUGE bodyguards!

He entered his plea and left the court within 15 minutes.

In the back of some of these shots you can see protesters. Were they advocates against domestic abuse? No. They were there protesting the paparazzi!
Chris Brown's walk of shame, and they were protesting against me!

I can see why this group would be against the police leaking photos of victims like Rhianna, but that's not paparazzi! This group seems so strange to me, using their rights of free speech to fight against mine! I do not violate anyone's privacy, and I obey the law. Photographing anyone in a public place is perfectly legal. One of the other photographers there said it perfectly, "celebrity privacy is an oxymoron."

About Item9

HOLLYWOOD, 2009: Dangerous and deadly car chases. Drug-fueled starlets refusing to wear underpants. D-listers begging to be photographed. Beefy bouncers with headsets and no brains. Lap dances in the gutter. Has-beens stealing your kush.

Everyone had a story, and most of them were working on a script based on that story. The landscape had changed, and what had once been a glamorous and dreamy boulevard was now a dark and seedy underground of hanger-ons and fame junkies.

That's where I came in. I could say I did it for the money, but that would make me a liar just like the rest of them. The truth is I was drawn to it. Like an accident on the side of the road. I didn't want to look, but my camera guided me, daring me not to ignore my destiny.
