ESPY Awards Part 1: Red Carpet Gallery

It was a great day to find myself on the Red Carpet covering the 2009 ESPY Awards at the Nokia Theatre in downtown Los Angeles on Wednesday, especially since an hour earlier I had no idea I was going. Some of the worlds biggest athletes were in attendance, including Kobe Bryant, The Venus sisters, Mike Tyson, Michael Phelps, Evander Holyfield, Julius Erving, The Iron Sheik (still looking for that rematch vs Hulk Hogan!) and Jared, the Subway guy! But not all the stars at the ESPYs were sports heroes. Seth Meyers & Andy Samberg of "SNL", Rashida Jones ("The Office"), Jamie Pressley ("My Name Is Earl"), Zach Levi ("Chuck"), and did I mention that Jared was there? I was unable to score press credentials to this event, but an old friend came through for me at the last minute... Thanks again @Wyclef!! That story and more photos and video later... Brüno LA Premiere Blocks Michael Mourners From Correct Star

The Brüno Los Angeles Premiere at the Graumans Chinese Theatre in Hollywood should have been a nice distraction from the awful news of the day. However, the premiere's location just happened to coincide with the REAL Michael Jackson star on the Hollywood Walk-Of-Fame (Some chose to mourn at a different Michael Jackson's star on Vine Blvd.). Undoubtedly, Brüno (Sacha Baron Cohen) worked overtime to cheer the crowd up, arriving in style straddling a Disco-Mirror-Tank, brandishing a gold Chanel Bazooka, backed-up by a Betallion of Babes bearing arms (and legs!) Brüno proclaimed this was the "gayest... most important film starring a gay Austrian since Terminator 2!" But there was a cloud over the festivities, as the group of Michael Jackson fans grew, and grew impatient for the fun to end and the serious mourning to begin. It was strange how one Hollywood tradition, the Glamorous Premiere, was tarnished somewhat by another Hollywood tradition of fans congregating around the star of a recently passed celebrity, and vice versa! Also at the premiere was Sacha's extremely cute-iful wife, Isla Fisher (Confessions of a Shopaholic, Wedding Crashers), producer Jonah Hill (Superbad), Chris Kattan ("SNL"), Ed Helms (The Hangover, "The Office"), and Ken Davitian (Borat)

More Reasons I Love THE OFFICE: Angela, Brian, Kate, Melora, & Oscar!

I kept running into stars of The Office all day and night yesterday, before during and after the premiere for The Proposal! First I saw Kate Flannery and Melora Hardin having coffee together, then saw them again at the premiere and they both remembered me! Brian Baumgartner, and Angela Kinsey were also at the premiere. Oscar Nuñez is in the movie so he was there too, and that might be why they were all in attendance. Then, after I uploaded my shots to item9, I caught Angela and Oscar leaving the after party at the Roosevelt Hotel. The best shot, though, was one I got earlier this week of Oscar on Robertson, faking a WTF? expression just 4 me!

2 Reasons I Love The Office: Melora Hardin & Mindy Kaling

I am a big fan of both incarnations of The Office, so it was nice to see two of the (American) cast members out looking pretty this week. First I saw Melora Hardin at the Hannah Montana Movie Premiere, pictured here with the twins, and her two daughters.
2 days later Mindy Kaling was at THE 7th Annual COMEDY FOR A CURE event at Boulevard3 in Hollywood, benefiting the Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance. In case you didn't know, Mindy not only plays Kelly, one of the funniest characters on the show, but she is also one of the head writers.
